Members of PVPA selectively provide photographic art for gallery exhibits and sales, various means of publication, and from time to time, promotional events for the art of photography. Recognizing the wealth of photographic talent in our communities, the aims of PVPA are to further the photographic interests and talents of the members and to engage in outreach, education, and artistic appreciation through exhibits and lectures provided to the community. Her work speaks to questions about the inherent nature of our physical containment in our bodies and examines a deep frustration with the limitations of our lives apart from the flow of the natural world. Margie works to examine the boundaries between entities in nature, and attempts to express a sense of spiritual searching for connectedness between human life and the rest of natural world. Artist: Burns Maxey Medium: Drawing Venue: White Square Address: 86 Cottage Street Event: Fresh off her successful exhibition at Forbes Library, intermedia artist Burns Maxey will discuss and show the colorful and whimsical drawings of 'Easthampton Alphabet.' Maxey developed the stories that accompany each letter through research she did about the town (okay, city). In a recent Advocate interview, Burns said 'Choosing the right stories wasn't simply a matter of finding the weird and wacky. I thought about what makes an interesting story, but when I printed them up, some also suggested visuals. There was the obvious, like a crime scene, but the mundane could still be interesting and visual. Like the potato chip factory [letter P] - it's not dramatic. But I like potato chips.' Artist: Fongster100 and Michael Orlen Medium: Music Performance Venue: Luthiers Co op Address: 108 Cottage St Event: 5-6pm: Open Mic 6-8pm: Fongster100 and Michael Orlen Robert Wilfong ('Fongster100') is a deft blues picker with a haunting voice that makes you truly feel the blues.
