Event: Watch and join in as local fiber artist Nancy Dorian demonstrates the Serti silk painting technique. After a 15-year career in corporate interior design, her company now & ZEN art to wear emerged from the belief that joy comes from doing what you love. She creates one-of-a-kind wearable art garments using many different silk painting techniques, as well as Nuno Felting and Fiber Etching . Nancy teaches fiber arts at New England Felting Supply, WEBS, Holyoke Community College, Holyoke Creative Arts Center and her home studio. Her work has been featured in Preview Massachusetts Magazine and can be found at galleries and boutiques throughout the Pioneer Valley and on Nantucket.

Portraits are drawn in charcoal, and take about thirty minutes. Caricatures are drawn in colored markers and take about ten minutes. Stop by the Old Town Hall from 5 - 8 PM for a setting. You also can drop off a family photo or photos to have reproduced as a hand-drawn illustation. |
