Artist: Amy E Lavallee |
Medium: Painting - Acrylic |
|
Venue:
Valley Art Supplies |
Address: 76 Cottage St |
Event: My paintings are done mostly with acrylic. I get my ideas through visual pictures I see in my head when I am in the between stages of wakefulness and sleep. I started painting in 2005, when my 3rd child was conceived; before then, I had never even picked up a paintbrush before. The feeling of creating something is very exciting to me, and I feel almost as if I’ve given birth to something. I try to keep the images that are light, colorful, and positive, because I feel there is enough darkness in the world. Although, I never know how a painting will turn out until it is finished. |

Artist: Briana Taylor |
Medium: Painting - Oil |
|
Venue:
Mt.Tom's Homemade Ice Cream |
Address: 34 Cottage St |
Event: Vessels record our ancient history and hold that historical record within their graceful bodies. They've contained Hope, Life, Escape, Death and Dreams. And still they contain Hope, Life, Escape, Death and Dreams.
I've spent a great deal of time quietly contemplating the reflective beauty of glass. An antique bottle can stop my tracks as I walk along a street of window shops. My brother-in-law found a bottle preserved in the fieldstone foundation of their 110 year old farm house. It was a building addition from the time of prohibition and the vessel told its story in its unexpected resurrection. What did the vessel look like that Socrates drank his poison from? What will our vessels say about us when we are long gone? |

Medium: Photography |
|
Venue:
Mary Ann's Dance and More |
Address: 56 Cottage St |
Event: Photography is my passion. I work in traditional black and white as well as digital photography. My work reflects who I am. It shows the complexity within which I work. As artists we are constantly progressing to new and exciting platforms. I am in a period of life where my work reflects the space around me. The places, people, and objects with which I see around me are what makes for the compositions in my photographs. I observe life around me. I see what people don't usually notice as they pass through on their every day routines. I photograph many places and objects that people pass daily but never notice. I try to give new perspectives on places and objects that people are already aware of. |

Artist: Aric Bieganek |
Medium: Music Performance |
|
Venue:
Pick Your Flick Video |
Address: 74 Cottage St |
Event: Born and raised in Central Minnesota, Aric Bieganek grew up infused with the belief that music can both tell stories and inspire personal and social change. His perspective and his songs -– from the introspectively placid to the passionately outspoken -– all embody this belief, just as they have since he was a little boy playing his first plastic guitar. Although Aric has traveled as far east as Japan, as far north as Iceland, and across the United States in his trusty Ford, his connection to his roots is evident in all the poetry and fervor of his songwriting.
Minnesota! Land of 10,000 Lakes, grassroots politics and the hard-working American…and land of MacGyver, the Mall of America, the Pillsbury Dough Boy, and Jesse “The Body” Ventura. This is the state responsible for both hot dish and Bob Dylan, and it is unsurprising that American Junk is such a complex mix of the contemplative and the hard-boiled. Aric’s frank, unaffected lyricism as well as a rich blend of sounds culled from outdated, broken, and otherwise unlikely instruments combine to create an album that transitions smoothly from the bittersweet nostalgia of “SC Excavating” to the eerie homage of “Some Inspiration” to the brass-knuckled sarcasm of “Number 1.”
Currently performing from the East Coast to the Middle States, Aric has played venues ranging from theatres and bars, to coffee houses and the occasional grocery store. Wherever you see him, you can be sure he will be singing straight from the heart, using music to tell his own story of the absurdity, gloom, and splendor of American life.
Aric currently resides in Easthampton, MA. In addition to his solo material, Aric also performs as a children's musicianand sometimes as a member of the following acts: Oweihops, Those Pesky Starlings and Northernly.
